Submitting Your App to the App Store and Google Play

Submitting your app to the App Store (for iOS) or Google Play (for Android) is an essential step in making your application available to users worldwide. While the process may seem daunting at first, following these steps will help you navigate the submission process smoothly.

Prerequisites

Before submitting your app, ensure that you have the following:

  • A completed, fully-functional app that complies with the guidelines of the respective app store
  • Developer accounts for the App Store (Apple Developer Program) and/or Google Play (Google Play Console)
  • Required app metadata, including title, description, keywords, and screenshots

Submitting to the App Store

  1. Sign in to your App Store Connect account
  2. Click on the + button and select New App
  3. Fill in the app information, such as name, primary language, bundle ID, and SKU

  5. Upload your app’s screenshots, app preview, and metadata
  6. In the Build section, upload your app bundle or APK
  7. Complete the Version Information and Rating sections

Apple’s review process typically takes a few days to a week. You will be notified via email once your app is approved or if changes are required.

Google Play’s review process is usually quicker than the App Store’s, often taking just a few hours to a couple of days. You will receive an email notification once your app is approved or if there are any issues to address.

Post-Submission

After your app is approved and published, it’s essential to monitor user reviews and feedback. Regularly update your app to fix bugs, add new features, and improve user experience. Engaging with your users and providing timely support will help maintain a positive reputation and encourage more downloads.
